And she walks

All in a day's work

As most of you know, I work from home. Every now and then Scarlett does a little work for me.

I must get this email out.

Yes, can I help you?

Double dipping

So I am a little behind in updating Scarlett's blog and this particular posting should have been posted before Scarlett's 1st birthday, but I was anxious to get her birthday photos uploaded.

The day before Thanksgiving, it was very warm outside before the cold front came. Gerry took Scarlett outside and sat her down next to him by the pool to dip their feet in the water. She actually sat still with her feet in the water with every now and then kicking the water.

Happy 1st Birthday!!!!

Yes, it actually happened. It was a year ago when this precious child blessed us with her presence and a year later, she continues to do so.

More practice

This video gives you a better look at Scarlett's attempt to walk. You can see the excitement in her face. She's so proud of herself. She has yet to try to take a step by herself, but we won't rush her.

11 months old

My little ladybug

Scarlett was too young to go trick or treating, but she was able to dress up at Kids Days Out. As a mother, I had to take pictures of her in her costume.

Learning to walk

We figured out that Scarlett will try to walk if you hold only one of her hands. The video is not the best quality coming from the camera, but you can see her walking in her ladybug costume while we were at a party.

But my day wasn't over...

Later that day, we had a Halloween party to go to at the old neighborhood where Mommy and Daddy lived before I was born. I got to wear my ladybug costume.

THE BEST PART!!!

At the end of our zoo trip, Daddy carried me on his shoulders. I was so high in the air.

Trip to the zoo

Today was my very first trip to the zoo.
Here we are standing in line to pay. Mommy didn't even think about pre-paying online.

Here I am with the big kitty that people call a jaguar. I can't say that word.

Look at all those flamingos. They were pretty loud. They scared me.

Going on a safari ride

Last weekend, we (Gerry, Scarlett, Chelsea, Ryan and Sara) went to a ranch party that the chairman of the company I work for was hosting. Every year, he takes people out on a safari ride in his safari Jeep. He has quite a bit of animals out there including zebras.

Scarlett is on her way to the safari Jeep (not shown) with Ryan, Chelsea and Sara. Not shown - Gerry is taking the picture and I was busy helping with the party. Apparently during the ride, Scarlett fell asleep, but my photographer failed me in providing pictures during her ride. Oh well.

Being lazy

At a recent trip to dinner, Scarlett found a better way to drink from her sippy cup so she doesn't have to hold it.

JACKPOT!!!

Scarlett discovered there are items actually behind the cabinets she's been playing with.

10 months old

Scarlett turned 10 months yesterday. It's hard to believe that only two months from now she'll be a year old. She is so much fun and the happiest baby I know. She's not walking yet, but I expect it pretty soon. She pushes everything she can around the house such as her highchair.

Let me out

My new pool

The pool is finally ready!!!!!

Mommy helps me show Daddy what I've been learning at swim lessons.

Daddy shows me the waterfall and he let me touch it.

"Daddy, keep me warm."

All aboard

Scarlett recently was at her friend's, AJ, two-year old birthday party where the theme was Thomas the Train. Scarlett shows AJ's grandpa that she, too, can be a train conductor.

Watching the world go round

Wonder why we buy toys for Scarlett when just your home furnishings amuse her more. Scarlett loves to stand at the globe and spin it around.

I love my family

Scarlett enjoys hanging out with her daddy, sisters and brother-in-law.

Pump It Up

Last weekend, we took a trip to Oklahoma and went to a birthday party for some of her cousins. They held it at a place called "Pump It Up". It's filled with big blow-up jumpers. This was her first experience and what was great was that adults were able to get in so we were able to enjoy the fun with her.

CHEERIOS

Scarlett has been eating Cheerios for about 3 weeks now. To make it fun for her, I bought this Cheerio container. It's a big Cheerio that has a small slider that lets a little bit of Cheerios out at a time.
As you can see, she doesn't care how she gets her Cheerios as long as she gets it.

First day of "school"

Scarlett just started Kids Day Out (aka Mother's Day Out). I thought that she would cry when I left her, but instead she looked a little confused then looked around the room and didn't look back again. All she saw were all the new toys she can play with. She's been twice now and seems to enjoy it. I miss her when she's gone, but it does allow me to get a few things done while she's having fun.

Here she is with one of her teachers, Ms. Suzanne.

Nine months old

September 1st, Scarlett turned 9 months. She is becoming quite the character.

Moving week

Well, time has gone by with no report. We've been a little busy with unpacking. We finally moved into the new house on August 26. We almost have everything put away. This is the last time we move.

During the unpacking, Scarlett decided she'd try to help or so we thought.
"Hmm, what do we have here?"

"Oh, look a new toy"

"What? I deserve a break"

All packed

We are finally at the tail end of finally moving into the new house. We've started our packing and Scarlett started hers.

Give me that camera!!

There I got it

For quite some time when a toy ended up in the middle of her exersaucer, Scarlett would just look at wanting it but she couldn't figure out how to get it. After weeks of studying, she's figured it out. She wanted that shoe. A girl after my own heart - shoes.

Walking with assistance

About two weeks ago we bought this Walk & Ride toy for Scarlett to help her learn to walk. I don't know what we're thinking, but we figured she loves to be on her feet so might as well help where we can. Notice where she starts her "walk" by looking at the TV in the background.
